Dilema…
Someone wanted to sell his Tamron SP 24-135mm lense for RM750. So, since I am not too happy with my Sigma 17-35mm, I made an appointment with him to test out that lense of his.
First impression, the lense is heavy!! And it is huge as well, requiring a 72mm filter. Of cos nothing compared to the 82mm of the sigma, but still.. it is still quite huge.
Too bad both he and I were in a hurry and I only managed to take a few shots.. a few bad shots. But those shots are enough.
Here are some comparison :

This is the scene.. Both lenses are set to 24mm (the Sigma is a 17-35) and aperture set to f5.6 for the Sigma while the Tamron is opened wide at f3.5.

Sigma

Tamron
Seems to be very little difference.

Sigma

Tamron
Ah… can see some difference liao..
Then.. the eye opener..

Sigma

Tamron.
*sigh* kenot be that bad right?
But the Sigma.. at times, the centre quite good…

Sigma

Tamron
almost no difference..
Another test show… this time, just the Sigma taken at various aperture setting.

This is the shot. Dun mind the shadow at the bottom. That is the huge lense blocking the built in flash.

Bottom right. Using f6.3

Bottom right. Using f16.. almost maxed out the aperture ady.
So how.. to buy or not to buy? Already spent quite a lot on Christmas presents.
