There is this debate going on among some frens of mine.

There is this case of wife hitting hubby. Everyone was trying to find out and to rationalise why the wife hit him. They were saying that it was probably due to hubby abusing her for some time already and then wife suddenly blow her top and hit back or it was self-defense. Something like Jennifer Lopez in the movie “Enough”.

Funny how people react differently when hubby hits wife. People automatically see the hubby as a monster. Why can’t people do the same for hubby like what they do for wifey? Maybe wife was trying to get attention from hubby who is working 18 hours shifts just to make ends meet for family and wife goes psychotic and throws herself down a flight of stairs and then tells people that hubby abuses her just to get everyone elses attention.

Dun get me wrong and start your very own automatic verdict on me and labeling me a male chauvinist pig.

To me, whoever hits is at fault. No matter if she walked between you and telly and made you miss the all time best goal ever or if he left the toilet seat up, if you hit your spouse, you should be condemned to a lifetime of filling your taxes to the tax department and enduring their sloth-like performances.

This is not a gender issue. It is a society issue and how it takes sides.
