Playing the Host : Back to Sitiawan

It all started when my unimates and other friends had dinner and were discussing places to have our next dinner. And the idea of having seafood in my hometown of Sitiawan popped up.

So.. last weekend, 7 of us.. travelled back to Sitiawan.

Since some of us had stuff to do, we only got to travel on Sunday… and had little time to explore the rest of my kampung. Did not have the chance to savour the local delight.. kompiang… cos it was fully booked!!

Anyways, we got to enjoy a sumptous dinner….

Here, we were waiting for the dishes to arrive… did not take long tho… about 5 minutes into waiting.. the first dish arrived.

I am very sorry that I did not take any of the food pics. I was a little to engross in stuffing them down my throat. MUAHAHAHAHA…

Let’s see… we had…
- Oyster Fried Egg
- Mantis Prawn cooked ‘kung po’ style (dried chilli with black sauce)
- Buttered Mantis Prawn
- Deep fried little fishes
- Crab cooked with salted egg yolk
- Some vegetable
- Prawns…
- Fish stomach soup
- Sotong Sambal
- and another dish I cannot remember liao.

and loads of Tiger beer to wash them all down.

Oh… since most of them have not experienced Todi… we ordered one cup.

Looks like barley.. looks harmless.. MUAHAHA… still waters do run deep eh? kekekeke.

As I expected… the smell of fermented coconut water was a little too much for them to bear. I personally do not like it… hehe

I then took them to Lumut… a waterfront town.. portal to Pangkor Island. Lumut and Sitiawan is close by… both sleepy towns… and as usual… it affects people…

Not much drama… except on the highway… I suddenly smelt some plastic burning smell.. and my passengers were screaming…

“SMOKE!!! GOT SMOKE!!!”

so I pulled to the side… and checked…

*sigh*

One of my amps burnt… AGAIN!!!

I really do hope that it is repairable. Otherwise it would mean forking out about RM2K for a particular amp. Why that amp? It matches my front component speakers. Because of the way my audio is configured.. not cheaper.. nor is it easy to replace.

Double *sigh*
