I had a rather quiet ushering in of the new year.
Previously it would be at some club, loud music, lots of alcohol and screaming patrons. Then it dwindled down to a very simple yamcha session with some friends. Definitely age is catching up.
This time around, Lilian invited me to join her and some of her friends up in Gohtong Jaya for BBQ. I am not much of a geography fellow so I shall leave out the details about the town. It is, however, not cold enough, but good thing it is less warm and humid compared to the city which the rest of us have to endure all year round.
Up there, I had my second go at mahjong. It is a game I could never understand. My cousins tried teaching me one Chinese New Year, but gave up trying. This time around, Lilian tried. She ALMOST succeeded. I played a few games, but all ended up loosing all of my chips. So sad.
The time came, and the ladies prepared the food..

and the boys brought out the BBQ pit and coal.

The ladies helped out too..
After a while, we finally got it going and we wasted no time putting the chicked, sausages and all that on.

We were trying the ‘flame grilled chicken’….

This is one of the very few BBQs I had where we finished ALL the food.
We then played Pictionary.

One of the girls took this pic. Good eh?
We then ammended the rules. Instead of drawing, we had to act it out. And so we had fun playing charades.

.. which got even more interesting after a couple shots of happy juice..

Yes.. the girls were having a go at the happy juice as well.

Drinking amongst themselves..
While the guys hung out at the balcony.

And the result of mixing photography with happy juice…
