Rush through life and a lot of things will pass by you in a blur. Take some time off and smell the roses.

Locked Out

This is one pic most westerners would not be able to accept as a wedding photo. But here in Asia, especially in the Chinese community, it is one very recognisable photographed.

The ‘chip sang leong’ ceremony.

In short, this is the time when the groom picks up his bride. But the bride has a horde of ’sisters’ to ensure that the groom ‘pays’ or ‘plays’ his way to his bride. Fortunately, the bride also has a mob of ‘brothers’ to assist. The groom usually ends up having to both play his way to his bride, and at the door separating the groom and the bride, he usually has to pay this way in.

A Sinful Dinner..

Lilian of ifantabulous was down here in KL. So a group of us from our alumni forum brought her out for dinner. Our alumni spans almost 30 years (if I am not mistaken). And that night at the table, we have a generation from the eldest to the youngest.

Here we have (from right) Allan, Lilian Wan, Justin and Lilian (the guest of honour)

JC and wife, who rearranged their schedule so that they could join us (and more importantly Lilian) for dinner. Usually they only available after 9.30pm.

Then there is the elusive Ah Wong and Kim. No, they are not together, just so happened they were photographed within the same frame. :P

L to R : Jerry, Ball (dunno what he saw) and yours truly.

Pretty ladies… Lilian and Kim

Food was delicous!! It was a seafood restaurant, but they do serve a lot of other stuff as well.

I think this is pineapple sweet sour pork

Ham Tan Sotong (Sotong fried with salted egg yolk). My first time having them, after listening to Lilian (of trying2findme) how wonderous they taste.

And they were indeed heavenly!!

Ham Tan Hai (Salted Egg yolk Crab)

They cook the crab in some special salted egg yolk stuff and they stick to the crab.

So you lick them first, before cracking open the shell to get to the meat.

and you lick….

And trust me… your fingers tastes much better then when you are eating KFC.

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm

The other dish we had was this; Cheese Crab. Cooked with cheese sauce, but not just any cheese sauce, cheese sauce with chilli!! So you get a good kick out of the sauce.

We also ordered this side dish. Fried ‘mantao’. Dunno how to explain, but it is like fried paus. You take them and soak them in the cheese sauce. *drool*

And all these washed down with Coke Asam boi. Sorry.. no pics of this. But trust me, try it once, and you get addicted to it.
