Who is to blame?
The authorities? The other drivers? The law? The way they make our roads? The tolls? The weather?
Who? Who is to blame for the hot headed drivers we see everyday on the roads?
Well, that is the problem isn’t it? We tend to look to others, finding someone to put the blame on. We (or I) are not to be blamed.. ever. It is the rest who are to be blamed.
I was very much surprised when some people actually say it is alright to do moronic stuff like :
jump queue - otherwise how? wait till when woh?
take the emergency lane - no one use mah, i use loh. otherwise how? wait in the jam ah?
following behind an emergency vehicle as it rushes a victim to the hospital - people clear the way, i follow la.
overtake along a double line and going against traffic- no car come wan lah.. no problem
double/triple park and not care if he/she blocks anyone, even if they honk all day - wait little while can die ah?
take up 2 parking lots - my car big mah. you can always park other places mah.
stop at yellow boxes - cheh.. otherwise people cut in leh.
I mean, i can come up with many more things which these people think it is alright to do so. What is more surprising is that, they are ‘educated’ people. People whom I would have expect to have a little bit more cow sense.
So the next time you people wanna complain about how bad the traffic jam is, think of yourself and how you and people like you are making the traffic jam even worse. Yes, the jam might be because of too many cars on the road, badly designed roads and interchanges, bad traffic light timing and all that. But those are merely part of the reason, moronic behaviour plays a big role in making it worse.
Oh.. and remember to check your car manual and read the part about indicators. They do work. And despite the fact that a lot of cars will speed up and block you from turning, there are quite a number who do give you way when you indicate.
And please… do not take the indicator as an excuse to cut queue. Eg, beating the queue and cutting in at the very last minute.
