The first and second treasure hunt organised by our holding company, I signed up. But was not able to go due to some unforseen circumstances. This time around. I made sure that nothing got in the way. But the thing was that three days before the actual day, I got news that a good friend’s dad passed on. The good news is that I can actually go visit him and his family and make it back here in time for the flag off. But it would mean me driving non-stop for days without much rest and considering safety issues (driving long distances without much rest is not a good idea), i decided against it.
Anyways… here is a pic thanks to Google Earth.

We practically drove from one coast to the other. Good thing Malaysia is not W I D E like Australia or the US. It took us about 7 hours to go from Klang to Kuantan. BTW.. just in case some of you are wondering, I had a GPS tracker in my car, nothing fancy, not navigation or “Turn right after 500 metres” kind of thing. Just a black box which records my location and speed, every 100 metres. Why bother? because I like to see where i went. hehe. The red line is actually spot locations or dots. But since it is logged every 100 metres and you are viewing at such high altitude, they merge and make a line.
We reached the flag off place a little pass 7am. And they provided breakfast.

Our all time Malaysian favourite breakfast. Too bad there ain’t any teh tarik around.

The Hunt Master giving last minute briefing.
About 40 teams participated. And after a quick group photo, we were on our way. From the company HQ to Bentong, there was not much excitement. Just had to go through the familiar roads and highways of the Klang Valley. But once we reached Bentong, there is when we had to look for the first answer.

Here, we were rather upbeat. We parked our car and started walking around to hunt for the answer. We also stopped at the second location to hunt. But after a while, we got a little lazy, and it was rather hot too. So we stuck inside our air conditioned car to look for the answer.
The hunt took us through a combination of trunk roads and highways. There were stetches where it was really quite boring as we were just driving to the next destination where we will begin the next phase of the hunt.

The skie was blue. Very nice. But the highway is really straight. And it was really boring.

Especially when I always keep to the speed limit *ahem ahem*

After a while, we were halfway thru the highway. The familiar bridge.

And our spirits were back up. About 5 minutes before this picture was taken, the rest were sleeping, and I was trying my level best to keep awake. Ya ya, I know, should stop and rest, but it was not about being tired, it was more like… bored to sleepiness. Good thing the rest woke up and started taking pics.

Then we hit the next town, almost at our destination. And after that, I forgot to take more pictures as we were rather excited to reach our destination. Good hot shower and a nice comfortable bed to rest our weary bodies. And rest our weary bodies we did while we await the rest (we were 4th to arrive) and for the BBQ dinner.
While we waited, we were busied ourselves….

.. playing with slow shutter speeds and lights. Quite fun.

Dinner was wonderful. The sausage was especially wonderful. We also had -almost- free flow beer, but no one seems to be trying to get drunk.
And for the first time in my life…

I got a lucky prize; a lucky seat prize where they stuck a piece of paper under your seat. My seat came with the ‘lucky’ piece of paper. HEHEHE.
Anyways.. before anyone of you starts to wonder if we won anything from the treasure hunt, I would like to add that we entered the treasure hunt as a breakaway.. just for fun.. as a holiday kind of thing. Remember that we only got out to hunt like for the first two locations. The rest we stuck in the car and breezed through the questions, not expecting to win anything or be in any placing at all.
But….

.. hehehe…
We got 5th placing. MUAHAHAHAHA.
Not too bad. And besides the trophy, we got ..

Gift vouchers.. woo hoo!! it’s shopping time!!!!

Yeah.. we got a little mad when we heard of our position. kakaka
After dinner, we had more fun with long shutters and lights..

and check out my super pohwah Lotus-Palm-Powered-Super-Chi-Kung-Dun-Play-Play lighting from palm kungfu..

All in all, it was quite fun lar. And a holiday overdued.
