The Quest : Better Photos
It has been quite a while since I put an effort to achieve what I would like to call photographic art. As you can see from my previous postings, most (hopefully not all) of my photos have been more like snapshots than anything else. The problem is that, with Digital SLR becoming more and more affordable these days, there are a lot of self proclaimed photographers out there, claiming to know how to critic a photograph. I dare to say that clearly, these people do not know even a minute amount of what photography is. Of course they know the technical part, but the art part has been completely left out.
Obviously I am not claiming that I know better, or am better. Definitely not. Like someone mentioned, photography is both a science and an art. Mixing them up together is like mixing oil with water. It cannot mix, yet in photography, you have to find a balance by adding yourself into the mixture to create an emulsion of science and art, both working together to give you better photos.
But the problem with art is that it is extremely subjective. Which is why a work of art may be put down as photographic rubbish. But one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure.
So.. the quest begins with this one photo.

I hope to create and share with my small but loyal readers, better photos.

KK, a most interesting shot. I think if u crop / clone out the white clouds at the centre top, the pic might have more impact. and also, this one your own site, dun have file size limit, so, post lar bigger pic with less compression, can see a lot of jpeg artifacts in the sky.
